Automatic transmission shifter cable bushing disintegrated on my 2006 Nissan Xterra. NO NEED to buy a whole new transmission cable, just buy the bushing and replace it yourself. I found a company that sells bushings for most makes and models. Check them out they're BushingFix.com, just click on the link below for the kit I used for my Xterra. Great customer service and if you can't find your model, email them and they can help you. http://www.bushingfix.com/ni1kit/

The bushing is a good solid fix . I do not know how long it will last but it is working very good for now. The install was straight forward as per the instructions but the install tool was very flimsy and pretty much useless for me. I used channel locks to squeeze the bushing into place as I could not force it in with finger pressure. I have to say for the one bushing the cost is outrageous. Other than that I am very satisfied with the bushing.

Worked great, heads up, make sure to lay a small towel or paper below working area in case bushing slips out of hand and down into shifter boot.
