On advice of my mechanic I took off the steering clamshell. Told me to look for where the play was. It would either be a cracked controller or the cable grommet. Either was an expensive part and 2-3 hours labor. Fortunately it was the cable end. Even more fortunately I found this relatively inexpensive quick fix. Like new again.

Searches everywhere for a solution to fix my shift cable without replacing the whole thing. This is the only option I found for a good fix. Easy to install. Fit like a glove.

The transmission shifter on my 2006 Tundra quit working recently.... the factory bushing in the steering column had disintegrated. The BushingFix bushing was a perfect fit and the shifter works like new.

Bushing fit perfectly, however on a 2004 Tundra it doesn't use a clip. I had to obtain a clip to hold it in place. The original was a snap in place.
(Bushingfix edit: Our kit, like the factory piece, doesn't require a clip, it will hold without.)

The dealer doesn't sell this part and recommended to just replace the entire shift control cable for that bushing which amounted to $250! Crazy right?! The bushing went right in and with the help from a jesus clip I was back on the road. thank you.
